OXFORD MINT (1642-6), three Shrewsbury plumes, annulets at date and above declaration, 1646.

Smallish flan with much flatness in the legend - but a good portrait and very rare.

TOWER MINT under THE KING (1625-42), Group II, type 2b, plume between C R above shield, mm.rose, over plume on rev. Variety with ornately garnished shield (same puncheon used on group C shillings, sharp reverse, type 4, cf.JGB 453-6). EXTREMELY RARE.

Some flatness in the centres, otherwise a clear example.
