PONTEFRACT BESIEGED (June 1648-March 1649). Lozenge shaped, XII on right of castle dividing PC, 1648 below.
Obv:- DVM : SPIRO : SPERO around crowned CR.
Crudely pierced and plugged. These coins, like the Newark siege pieces, were often worn as badges - either as memorial pieces or in support of the 'Royalist Cause'.
