OXFORD MINT (1642-6), Briot's horseman, 1644, pellets by Ox and date, mm.plume /pellets. Three plumes over large central plume - altered dies of S2965 and not in Morrison. Only one other known (Spink N.C.Dec.03 £1750) and not as well struck as this piece.
Ex:- GANTZ (Glens auc.June 23rd 1941, lot 1294 [part] and MASON (Baldwins auc.37, May'04). Extremely rare and a good example of a Briot Oxford Halfcrown in any case.
